These devices can be used in any distribution system, transformers as well as electrical machines. If the SIPROTEC Compact 7RW80 devices detect any deviation from the frequency or over-excitation values and permitted voltage they will respond automatically according to their values set. These devices can also be applied for the purposes of system decoupling as well as for load shedding if there is any risk of a system collapse as a consequence of inadmissibly large frequency drops. An integrated load restoration function permits the re-establishment of the power system after the recovery of system frequency.
